The latest torrent releases of a Korean HD digital source on March 9, 2017 pushed number of daily file sharers to more than 882,800 within two days.
xXx: the return of Xander Cage premiered on January 5, 2017, in Mexico and hit theaters worldwide between January 13 and February 24. Official digital and DVD release dates are not expected before April or May.
EARLY DIGITAL-SOURCE TORRENTS PUSH P2P ACTIVITY
Despite this wide range in release dates, some countries like South Korea or Russia have even earlier digital releases. This also tends to lead to earlier high-quality torrent releases (most of them with hardcoded Korean or Russian subtitles) and a worldwide increase in P2P activity for the respective movie titles.
P2P users started to share this movie in increasing numbers starting on January 15, after a cam torrent was released. Although the number of daily file sharers peaked at 320,000 a few days later, P2P activity had been continuously decreasing until the latest higher-quality torrent was released a few days ago.
Overall, “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” has been shared at least once by over 8 million P2P users since January. Most of these file sharers reside in the following top five countries: India, Russia, Pakistan, China and South Korea.
